Handmade in Greece with non-precious stones and metals

Deka Lepta Coin with beaded blue glass Evil Eye Good Luck Wall Ornament brings back memories of the drahma days and the 10 lepta coin (the dekara as was known). The 10 lepta coin was one of the most memorable coins of Greece since it featured a hole in the middle. Minted in the 50's and 60's this coin was not of great monetary value but was used extensively in daily transactions since it could pay for a bus ride, a loaf of bread, or candy at the periptero. Finding one was considered a sign of good fortune and the coin was often used as a good luck charm.

One of a kind coins used on this set are replicas of the original coin and have no monetary or collectible value.
