This unique sterling silver good luck charm pendant features a turtle.  In ancient Greece the turtle represented strength, stability, longevity, and fertility.  Tortoises and turtles were so well respected that they appear in one of the most popular Aesops fables:  The Tortoise and the Hare.  The generous-sized sterling silver ring attached to the top (loop approx. 4mm) allows this beautiful charm to be strung on almost any chain or cord of your choice.

History
The tortoise was the symbol of the ancient Greek city of Peloponnes: the seal of the city shows images of tortoises.  As a good luck charm, the Turtle is believed to provide protection, good fortune, and also brings happiness and good omens.  The turtle is one of the four Chinese sacred animals.
