Silver is 950 degrees proof and is tarnish-free (does not require polish). Faces are hand-painted in fine detail, using high quality paint.

The Holy Unmercenaries were physicians who, during their lives on earth, worked to heal all without concern for gain; and who since their repose continue to heal by their prayers those who call on them in faith. Kosmas and Damianos were born of wealthy parents and educated in the best schools receiving degrees in medicine. They were apostles of Christ and physicians of both the body and soul, who pledged never to accept payment of any kind for their services. They healed thousands through the miracle of prayer and medicine.

Sainta named after Kosmas and Damianos include: Saints Cosmas and Damian (October 17); Saints Cyrus and John (January 31, June 28); Thallelaius (May 20); Samson (June 27); Saints Cosmas and Damian (July 1); Hermolaüs (July 26); Panteleimon (July 27); and Diomedes (August 16).
