This unique sterling silver pendant features the classic icon of an owl ( koukouvagia ), which is the traditional Greek symbol of wisdom - with gleaming blue non-precious stone eyes. On the reverse side the pendant has a fine "punched silver" texture. The pendant is attached to a 45cm long black or turquoise cord necklace.  For the necklace colored cord, please select one of the available color options: black or turquoise.

In Greek and Roman mythology, Glaucus (Greek: Γλαῦκος, Glaukos, "glaring (eyes)") is the symbolic owl of Athena or Minerva, respectively. Often referred to as the "owl of Athena" or "owl of Minerva", it accompanies Minerva in Roman myths, seen as a symbol of wisdom because the owl is capable of seeing even in the dark and of vigilance because the owl is awake at night.
