At daybreak on 15th of August 2003, the Turkish yatch Ege guzeli (Aegean Beauty) puts two men and a six-year-old girl ashore on the small Greek isle of Pitta. The three are illegal immigrants and were rescued by the yacht in Greek territorial waters. Apart from the captian and a deckhand, there are three women on board the yacht, two of them contestants in a beauty pageant and a former winner, a preporter and a cameraman from Bodrum TV, the local Turkish network that organizes the annual beauty pageant in the cosmopolitan capital of the Halicarnassos peninsula.
The six Greek soldiers stationed on the islet outpost impound the yacht and while they wait for orders from their superiors, force the crew and passengers to disembark on the rocky isle. A soldier's former civilian profession as well as other unfavorable circumstances cause problems in their communications with headquarters which are compounded by the personalities of the other soldiers, the obcious natural attributes of beauties, the patriotism of their companions and the despair of the illegal immigrants. This combines to create a heart-filled as well as explosive gathering, which culminates in armed hostilities between Greece and Turkey - which are eventually averted but only by discarding stereotype, bias and prejudice.
