The Neptune Collection - Sterling Silver Earrings - Owl and Opal (12mm)
Sterling silver earrings features opal gemstones on the wings and the classic icon of an owl (koukouvagia), which is the traditional Greek symbol of wisdom - with gleaming blue non-precious stone eyes. The opal is iridescent meaning the look and reflections change when you view it from different directions. The back of the earrings has a fine "punched silver" texture.

In Greek and Roman mythology, Glaucus (Greek: Γλαῦκος, Glaukos, "glaring (eyes)") is the symbolic owl of Athena or Minerva, respectively. Often referred to as the "owl of Athena" or "owl of Minerva", it accompanies Minerva in Roman myths, seen as a symbol of wisdom because the owl is capable of seeing even in the dark and of vigilance because the owl is awake at night.
