[Code : VASCoin_Gift] Official Greek Vasilopita Coin with Collectors Case & Recipe

This product is currently unavailable for purchase.

In Greek tradition, the cutting of the Vasilopita (St. Basil's bread) is part of any New Year's celebration. According to the custom, a gold coin ("flouri") is inserted in the bread during its preparation. Whoever gets the piece with the gold coin is supposed to have a lucky New Year and the flouri becomes a good luck charm as well as memorabillia for that particular year.

This Beautifully Minted Vasilopita Coin with the image of St. Basil The Great was designed by Father George Papadeas expressly for the purpose of this Wonderful Occasion. Each Golden Vasilopita Coin comes in its own display case complete with The Story of the Vasilopita, Our Favorite Vasilopita Recipe, and the traditional cutting instructions.

Each coin is slightly larger than a US Quarter and is made with Gold Electroplate and we recommend wrapping it in some aluminum foil before inserting in the Vasilopita to avoid tarnishing.
