Ariadne, daugher of King Minos of Crete, was known for helping Theseus overcoming Minotaur's maze based on the well known Ancient Greek Myth. This collection is named after Ariadne due it to the swirl motif which was believed to symbolize the Minoan maze but also infinity. This is why jewelry with the swirl motif are believed to represent "infinite" commitment to a friend or loved one.

This sterling silver pendant features a cluster of four traditional Minoan Swirl Motifs, forming a diamond or rhombus shape. The generous-sized sterling silver ring attached to the top (loop approx. 5mm) allows this beautiful charm to be strung on almost any chain or cord of your choice.

Please note: European jewelry orders typically ship directly from Greece to avoid tax and custom duties.

History
The swirl motif is inspired by the Ancient Greek mythological Labyrinth, which was an elaborate structure designed and built by the legendary artificer Daedalus for King Minos of Crete at Knossos. Its function was to hold the Minotaur, a creature that was half man and half bull and was eventually killed by the Athenian hero Theseus. Daedalus had made the Labyrinth so cunningly that he himself could barely escape it after he built it. Theseus was aided by Ariadne, who provided him with a skein of thread, literally the "clew", or "clue", so he could find his way out again.
