Greece was one of the first countries to begin using euro currency on January 1, 2002. Prior to that their national currency was the Drachma. The Drachma is an historical Greek currency, being used several times throughout Greek history. At the time of the change-over to euro there were 8 Drachma coins in circulation: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 & 500. This beautifully presented set of coins celebrates the Drachma currency used at the time of the euro adoption. Within the set are 7 Drachma coins (1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 & 100) from the final set known as the 'third modern drachma coin'.

The coins are stylishly presented within a full-colour coin folder which displays both sides of the coins and features images of Greece and information on the country itself in both English and Greek. Detailed coin specifications are given on each of the 7 coins contained within the set.
